Some of these memberships and programs depend on the specific store location. When life is so expensive, you might as well take the extra savings.

AARP Membership

Probably the most well-known membership program for seniors is the AARP Membership. This membership gives you access to thousands of discounts across the United States.

Interestingly, there is no minimum age requirement to join the AARP Membership. However, most discounts are designed for adults over 50 years old.

Rainforest Cafe Senior Discounts

Rainforest Cafe is a treat. Did you know you could save about 10% on your check with an AARP membership card? You just need to present your card while you’re paying.

To save money at Rainforest Cafe, check with the store before ordering. Every location is different.

Amazon Prime

You don’t have to be a senior to sign up for Amazon Prime. This money-saving program is open to everyone. However, seniors get special perks if they meet certain requirements.

For instance, Amazon offers 50% off Prime Access. To qualify, you need to prove you use some form of government assistance, such as SSI, SNAP, DE, TANF, or Medicaid.

Kohl’s Senior Discounts

Do you like department stores? Then you are in luck. Kohl’s also offers special discounts for seniors.

Adults over 60 can use a one-time 15% discount on Wednesdays in certain stores. This discount can be applied with other rewards and discounts. It is only available in stores.

Ross Dress for Less 55+ Program

Ross has a little bit of everything. It’s one of my favorite stores. It also has one of the most generous senior discounts.

On Tuesdays, seniors 55 and older can participate in the Ross Dress for Less 55+ Program. All purchases made on Tuesdays get a 10% discount. You may need to show a valid ID to qualify.

Dunkin’ Donuts Senior Discounts

Some fast food brands also offer discount programs and rewards for seniors. Dunkin Donuts is no exception.

In select stores nationwide, seniors over 54 can enjoy discounts and freebies. Some stores offer free coffee, while others give seniors a 10 to 15% discount. It doesn’t hurt to ask.

Walgreens Seniors Day

Walgreens follows in the footsteps of some other stores. It offers exclusive discounts to adults 55 and over on certain days. The discounts are usually applied on the first Tuesday of each month.

Walgreens is significantly generous. Seniors aren’t limited to buying in-store. Sometimes, 20% off online coupons are available.

Carnival Cruises for Senior Citizens

Cruises are very popular with senior citizens. Carnival Cruises is one of the more affordable cruise lines. While Carnival Cruises doesn’t have a specific program or reward system for seniors, it often has deals.

Special offers are listed for senior citizens. Each special is different. However, you have to be 55 or older to claim one.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Discounts

Staying at a hotel as a senior has never been easier or cheaper. A popular discount program seniors need to know about is the IHG Hotels & Resorts senior discounts.

Seniors can snag hotel rooms at excellent prices. Participating hotels apply these discounts to adults 62 or older. Discounts vary by hotel.
